Merry meet again,

We hope you've had a good summer despite the weather we have had. For most of us in Ontario we've had thunderstorm warnings almost every day throughout July and August. Most of us feel as though we've not yet experienced summer. No, this is not Global Warming, but rather the jet stream taking a northerly route to us rather than the normal southerly route.

Merry Mabon! Mabon is the name used by some Wiccans and in some forms of Neopaganism for one of the eight annual primary holidays known as Sabbats. It is celebrated on the Autumnal Equinox which falls on the 22nd of September this year.

Mabon is very much like Thanksgiving, also known as The Second Harvest, Harvest Home, Harvest Tide, Fall Equinox, Autumn Equinox. It's a time to reap what we have sown, the fruits of our labour, both crops and experiences from the lessons we have learned. It's a time to give thanks for the abundance in our lives.

The time of light and dark are in equal balance. This marks the beginning of growing darkness and dying sunlight. Though it is a time when the Earth seems to die or hibernate for the coming winter months, it is time to rejoice not mourn. We look back over the year and remember what we have gained from this year shared with us. We joyously celebrate not only for the crops we harvest, but the friendships we've cultivated, the family we hold dear and the lessons life has imparted on us this year.

Merry meet and merry part, and merry meet again.

  • Lama Chodpa Incense
  • Lama Chodpa Incense

    100% pure natural Tibetan incense.

Tibetan tradition is strictly adhered to when making Lama Chodpa incense. The artisanal process mandates using the purest possible substances in exact proportions, some of which have been blessed. The carefully dried ingredients are individually ground (using a pestle and mortar), blended by hand, mixed into a paste which is squeezed into 8 inch lengths and then dried. They are then hand packed in protective cardboard tubing, enveloped in screen printed hand-made paper and wax sealed using an auspicious sign seal.

Lama Chodpa comes in four fragrances.
